Riesling Alte Reben 2022, Weixelbaum: Weingut Weixelbaum, Strasz, Kamptal. Full bodied, premium Riesling from old vineyards in and around Strasz in Kamptal. Intense and aromatic, ripe peach and apricot, residual sugar fantastically balanced by its fresh acidity. Goes well with Asian dishes, seafood and even BBQ!
Rotgipfler Brindlbach, Biegler: A natural cross of the aromatic Traminer and Roter Veltliner this extremely rare autochton (indigenious) grape variety is typical for white wine village Gumpoldskirchen in the Thermenregion south of Vienna. Lots of tropical fruit, banana and mango, off dry with a lovely balance and an elegant and complex finish. Perfect match for Ceviche and Asian dishes.
Roter Veltliner, Weixelbaum: There are only 195 hectares of this very rare and unique Austrian grape variety, which celebrates a well-deserved comeback. The ‘red’ in its name refers to the pinkish hue of the grapes. Fresh acidity, zesty, crisp and youthful. A great summer wine! Organic, non-certified.
Gelber Muskateller, Stefan Potzinger: Weingut Stefan Potzinger, Südsteiermark: light but heavily scented with a hint of apricot and mint, the aromatic Muskateller is celebrating a well-deserved comeback in Austria and beyond. Gelber Muskateller is the same as Muscat a petit grain, the smaller, more complex variety in the Muscat family. 3 stars in Vinaria Austrian Wine Guide 2021/22! Great with salads or on its own the terrace in the summer.
Grüner Veltliner Ried Gaisberg, Weixelbaum: Single vineyard Grüner Veltliner, powerful and mineral, orange zest, peach and apricot, balanced and complex, with a long ageing potential. The most powerful GV we ever had at Kipferl. .
